Demi Moore has opened up for the first time about the heartbreaking miscarriage she suffered while married to Ashton Kutcher.

In her new memoir, Inside Out, the Ghost actress recalls how she became pregnant not long after she started dating Ashton, 41, in 2003.

By the time they tied the knot in 2005, Ashton and Demi had dealt with significant loss when she miscarried their first child.

According to the New York Times, Demi writes in her autobiography: ‘[Dating Ashton was] a do-over, like I could just go back in time and experience what it was like to be young, with him — much more so than I’d ever been able to experience it when I was actually in my twenties.’

Shortly after, Demi fell pregnant with a baby girl whom she planned on naming Chaplin Ray.

She tragically lost the baby six months into the pregnancy.

The 56-year-old actress then spiralled into drinking and abusing Vicodin while blaming herself for the miscarriage.

But there was more heartbreak in store for Demi as she would later learn that Ashton had allegedly cheated on her.

In 2012, Demi was still reeling from the events and suffered a seizure after smoking synthetic cannabis and inhaling nitrous oxide.

Demi and Ashton separated in 2011 and while she has remained single, the Two And A Half Men star has since remarried to actress Mila Kunis.

He and his former That ‘70s Show co-star now share two daughters, Wyatt, four, and Dimitri, two.

Ashton and Demi did not go on to have their own children after the miscarriage but, during their marriage, he was stepfather to the three children she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis – Rumer, 31, Scout, 28, and Tallulah, 25.

Demi Moore’s autobiography Inside Out will be released on 24 September.
