Officers investigating an alleged assault outside of the Savoy hotel last Christmas are appealing for the victim to come forward.
The Met Police have released an image of a man they believe was assaulted at around 9pm on Sunday, 30 December outside the hotel on the Strand.
Officers were called to the incident but the victim did not wish to make any allegations at the time and declined medical treatment before leaving the area.
Enquires have re-opened after CCTV footage of the attack later appeared on social media.
Police have taken the unusual step of asking for the victim, or anyone who can identify him to come forward.
It is believed he is around 40-years-old and is pictured wearing a distinctive jacket and black hat at the time of the attack.
Police said a suspect has been identified but it is believed he is no longer living in the UK and the investigation remains ongoing.
Sergeant Robert Harris, from the Met’s Central West London team said: ‘At the time of the incident the man assaulted did not wish to pursue any allegations and declined any further assistance from emergency services.
‘In order to progress our investigation, we need to speak to this man as soon as possible.
‘Anyone who can help is urged to get in touch with the police on 101 with reference 6164/30DEC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 020 8345 418’.
